Copper Pines Boarding & Training Center and Birchwood K9 have once again partnered to offer a detection class for pet owners - this time geared toward the more advanced pups!
The current class being offered is designed for handlers looking to refine and advance their dog’s search skills. You and your dog will tackle more complex search scenarios while progressing through four key elements: container searches, interior searches, exterior searches, and vehicle searches.
Dogs and their handlers will be working through progressively more difficult hide placements, including converging odors and inaccessible hides. Handlers will be learning scent theory and develop strategic handling techniques to enhance their skills.
Dogs should have some previous Nose Work/Scent Work training to attend this class. Ideally, they should have completed a foundational class and/or have experience in detection. Dogs should have proficiency in searching and indication, and owners should have basic handling skills!
