This is a class designed for handlers looking to refine their dog's obedience skills with precision, reliability, and fluency. The main goal is to build advanced obedience behaviors, prioritizing clear communication and consistency between dog and handler!
This class will help prepare you for some elements of AKC CGCU or CGCC testing, with either test available through Copper Pines or Birchwood K9!
Some of the skills we will work on are:
Sit & Down: Strengthening duration, distractions, and distance with automatic responses.
Heelwork: Developing engaged, focused heeling with fluid position changes.
Stays & Recalls: Reinforcing rock-solid impulse control and fast, committed recalls.
Problem-Solving & Proofing: Working through common challenges and ensuring behaviors remain reliable under pressure.
Prerequisites: Completed Fundamentals 1 and 2 OR equivalent (puppy socialization and CGC preparation class).
